Synthesis and Evaluation of FeSX/TiO2 for the Photocatalytic Degradation of Phenol under Visible-Light Region

In the present work, phenol was used as a model molecule to photocatalytic evaluation of TiO2 impregnated with iron sulphide and chlorine on visible-light reactor. The iron–chlorine catalyst prepared by incipient impregnation metal precursors, Fe (NO3)3 NaCl previously calcined TiO2. sulphurized H2S at 300 °C for 1 h. catalysts were different concentrations using HYDRA chemical equilibrium diagrams obtain fractions FeCl+. oxide characterized diffuse reflectance (DRS UV–Vis) temperature programmed reduction analysis (TPR). Sulphurized Raman spectrometry X-ray photoelectron (XPS). FeS–2Cl/TiO2 presented 8.35 times higher photodegradation than 6.4 compared FeS–0.25Cl/TiO2 catalyst. DRS XPS showed similar results band gap, proving that remain stable after sulphurisation. TPR an increment 86.29% in Fe2+/Fe3+ FeS–0.25Cl/TiO2. sulphated species relation suggested decreased 4.45% semiquantitative S/Fe increased 73.17% comparison These sulphurisation degree FeS–2Cl/TiO2. this regard, characterization presence FeCl+ (0.85 fractions) solution before promoted active maintaining gap improved degradation visible light.
